About ALBERT ROBINSON

Born in Clay county, but raised in Laurel County with his three brothers, Albert Robinson, learned early on the value of hard work, loyalty and perseverance. At an early age, Albert began working in his family's grocery store in East Bernstadt, Kentucky and helped start Robinson Sausage Company in 1957, which is now known as Robinson Premium Meats. He then started his real estate and auction company in 1972 (he left the family business in 1992). During this time, he became intrigued in politics and began what has now been a thirty (30) plus year career in state politics- first as a Representative in the 70's and 80's before being elected into the State Senate. He currently represents the 21st District, which consists of Laurel; Jackson; Estill; Powell; Menifee, and Bath counties. 


Today, Albert serves on several important committees in the State Senate, including Banking & Insurance; State & Local Government; and Transportation. Additionally, he is the Chairman of the Veterans, Military Affairs & Public Protection Committee. As Chairman of this important committee, he is also automatically a member of Homeland Security and the Kentucky Department of Military Affairs. He is also a member of the statutory committee for Women Veterans. 


During the past four years, as a seasoned veteran of the Senate, he was instrumental in helping with Redistricting-a federally mandated requirement. He has also sponsored or co-sponsored important legislation, like the recent Right to Life (Consent Bill) and the Student freedom of speech and religion bill. 


Albert is a strong supporter of small business, and has been repeatedly recognized as a conservative leader. He has received the award of Taxpayers Best Friend, and has received a 93% score from the American Conservative Union for Conservative Excellence.
